Gizmo-kitty appears in a story

Sometimes animals play a major role in the plot of my stories. Other times they have a minor or cameo appearance. Since my stories frequently feature animals in some fashion, readers have asked me to talk about them.

All the named dogs and cats in my stories are based upon pets that we currently have or have had in the past.

In a current WIP bubbling away on the story stove, a kitty named Gizmo identifies the bad guys at first sight. If only the people had known how to speak cat and had understood him it might have saved them a lot of time. 🙂

Gizmo in the current WIP was the name of the second kitty my son had when he was little. He was an amazing kitty who loved laps, playing, and being petted. Gizmo was also an amazing judge of people’s characters, and a master of put-downs when he didn’t like someone.

Regrettably all of our pictures of Gizmo are non-digital; however the picture above–of one of our current kitties named Cosmo–looks exactly like Gizmo.

  1. Cats can be very intuitive. We had a cat named Gizmo, he identified us as an easy mark to take him home with us. LOL! He was a black and gray tiger striped sweetie.

      • I’m doing great considering all I went through. I’m at home now with PT coming twice a week to build up my strength. I’m looking forward to the time I get to lose the walker. I only use it if I’m going up or down a step. But I am well on my way. 😀

        • I am soooo glad you are doing better 🙂 That is fantastic–and I’m sure it is difficult for someone as independent as you are. Keep working on it — you can do it. Hugs to you.

Love to hear your thoughts :-)
