(WeWriWa) is a group of writers who agree to post 8 sentences of either a published work or an unpublished work on their blog on Sunday (voluntary and you sign up). Those who have signed up (and anyone else) has the pleasure of traveling (virtually) to samples of different authors’ stories, novels etc. Great fun!

An excerpt from On Treason’s Trail- a fantasy novella.

OTT_AlduraDogs howled and cats screeched. Gusting wind sent roofing thatch whirling through the air. Glason crouched next to his nephew in the shadows of a recessed doorway, cloak tucked close against the chill. The street lay silent beneath the light of the moon. Moisture-laden air dampened his clothes and heralded an approaching storm.

Glason gripped his nephew’s shoulder and hissed, “There, Flynn. Those are the Chorkan hire-swords Markan said helped kill Bennie.” He pointed toward a group of five men swaggering down the street. Wind flapped their cloaks, revealing swords prominent on their hips.

Thank you for stopping by and commenting. Hope you enjoyed. (Sorry to make you feel chilled on one of the first warm days — at least around here).

  1. I could picture the scene well, your selection of the images was excellent. Nothing in this world is settled and at peace. I thought you built the tension with each reveal.
