8 Sentences from: Battle of Stryker Pass

Gray WolfThank you for stopping by. Hope you enjoy.

Clovis crept forward, cursing the detours required to avoid brighter areas surrounding cook fires. He angled toward the center of the camp. His foot snagged on a peg. He stumbled, and caught himself on a nearby crate. A startled snort and change of breathing from those slumbering inside the shelter froze him in place. Three tents away a pacing guard stopped and stared in his direction. He held his breath, tucking shaking hands beneath his arms to still them until the guard continued his pacing. He moved once again through the darkness, his steps as soft as those of the wolves.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Don’t know what it is but I still cannot post/comment on your site. πŸ™

  1. This is my first time visiting you. At first I thought he was a wolf–then I figured out he was just trying to be as silent as a wolf. Nice! A tense scene I could visualize easily.

  2. yes very tense but would be good to have a set up to remind my hazy brain what the story is πŸ˜€

  3. Knowing how impossible his circumstances are, it somehow comforts me to know he can step as softly as wolf, even if he stumbles… I can’t wait to see what happens as he gets into the center and if the one he must rescue is indeed there… great action, Susan!
